The suburb of Fieldstone is located in the outer west of Melbourne. Its local government area is the City of Melton. The Office of Geographic Names officially recognised Fieldstone on 9 February 2017, after Melton requested eleven new suburbs. The region used to be part of Mount Cottrell before the suburb was established.
Mt. Cottrell Recreation Reserve is one of the closest attractions to Fieldstone. The Melton MCC’s Home Track is located in the reserve, which has been its home track since 1979. The Mt. Cottrell Recreational Reserve is located on the western plains about a half-hour drive west of Melbourne. Nestled within a green wedge, it’s home to species like the striped legless lizard and the golden sun moth. It has held its own region titles, state titles, tournaments for other clubs, and coaching clinics by well-known pro riders. All of these creatures and their habitats are safeguarded under federal law. Any apparent devastation of them or their habitat carries hefty fines. The Reserve is located in the Victorian Volcanic Plan’s Natural Temperate Grasslands, a highly fragmented and critically endangered natural community. Mt. Cottrell includes a Motocross track, a defunct enduro circuit, a dirt track, and an airfield. The Melton Model Aircraft Club, which is run by the Melton Shire, uses the airfield.
Another local site near Fieldstone is the Dinosaur Park Playground. Prepare to go through time to the Jurassic period. It’s no mystery that kids are fascinated with dinosaurs. Imagine their delight when they visit this dinosaur-themed park in Truganina. The enormous Tyrannosaurus Rex head with its large bright eyes and slide protruding from the ground is impossible to miss. There are also baby dinosaurs hatching from their eggs, and a dinosaur see-saw for the kids to ride on.
